WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR BELOTERO®?

Belotero® injections are recommended for adults in overall good health who wish to enhance facial contours and diminish the appearance of stubborn wrinkles, lines, folds and creases in the area of the mouth and nose. The treatment increases facial volume in people with visible damage resulting from environmental toxins, sun exposure, and smoking. Belotero® is not recommended for patients who have numerous or severe allergies that may cause anaphylaxis or those allergic to gram-positive bacterial proteins.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR BELOTERO®?

It is important to inform Dr. Mittelman if you are taking any medications, especially any medicines that affect blood clotting, such as aspirin, blood thinners or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), or medications that affect your immune system. If you currently have a skin irritation or reaction, such as cold sores, cysts, hives, infections, pimples or rashes, treatment may have to be postponed until the irritation or reaction passes.

HOW IS BELOTERO® ADMINISTERED?

Belotero® is injected using a very fine-gauge needle. Typically, Dr. Mittelman will numb the treatment areas using a topical anesthesia to prevent any possible discomfort. Dr. Mittelman will use his skill and expertise to carefully select specific injection sites that will achieve the most flattering, natural-looking results possible.

Immediate improvement in skin luminosity and volume will be noticeable immediately following the treatment, as well as an immediate reduction in lines, creases and wrinkles. As the hyaluronic acid continues to bind with water in your skin cells, the enhanced hydration of your skin will further smooth out lines and wrinkles, gradually over time. Although many patients require only one Belotero® treatment to achieve desired results, some may require a follow-up treatment in six months to further diminish lines and wrinkles around the mouth and nose.
