PREPARING FOR LASER GENESIS®

Makeup and moisturizers should be removed prior to treatment, if applicable, and patients should not use topical prescription medications, such as Retin-A, within three to five days of their scheduled treatment. Otherwise, scheduling a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Mittelman is the only other necessary step to preparing for Laser Genesis®. Depending on your desired outcome, you may need several treatments to reach your goal. Patients should prepare for a treatment plan with a series of individual treatment sessions.

RECOVERY FROM LASER GENESIS®

Laser Genesis® is one of the most convenient laser skin therapies, requiring no downtime or recovery period. Due to the non-invasive nature of the procedure, patients can expect gradual, yet noticeable improvements in their skin with little to no side effects or discomfort. Unlike other laser treatments, Laser Genesis® is gentle and it does not damage or irritate the skin’s surface, so patients can apply makeup and resume their normal activities immediately after treatment.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR THE TREATMENT RESULTS TO BE APPARENT?

The treatment results are very subtle, and most patients require four to six treatments to achieve their desired look. Every patient’s condition and needs vary, but in general, the overall improvement in the skin’s tone and texture irregularities caused by scarring, aging and sun damage are quite dramatic with multiple sessions of Laser Genesis®. Dilated veins and lesions in treated areas tend to fade within two to six weeks for most patients. Subtle changes will continue to accrue with each treatment session until you achieve the final outcome you desire after several months.
