Restylane Silk is the first cosmetic procedure approved by the FDA to enhance volume and contour in the lips. Restylane® Silk also diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines above the upper lip, known in the medical community as perioral rhytids, but commonly known as “smoker’s lines”.

Restylane® Silk is a gel consisting of minuscule beads that are smoother and smaller than those used in other Restylane® products, providing safe, natural-looking lip enhancement while diminishing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines around the lips. As a natural result of the aging process, the lips begin to lose volume and fullness, losing their rounded voluptuousness and becoming thin and flat. This combined with the presence of lines and wrinkles around the mouth makes your entire face look older and more tired. Restylane® Silk mimics the natural plumpness of youthful lips, resulting in a firmer, fuller, and shapelier contour that looks and feels totally natural.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR RESTYLANE SILK?

Restylane® Silk is safe for use on adults in generally good health who desire fuller, plumper lips and a rejuvenated facial appearance by smoothing out the fine lines and wrinkles above the lip line.

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR RESTYLANE SILK?

Restylane Silk is an FDA-approved cosmetic dermal filler treatment, tested for safety and efficacy when administered by a qualified facial plastic surgeon such as Dr. Mittelman. Even though Restylane® Silk is made from natural ingredients, please inform Dr. Mittelman of any allergies or medical conditions you may have prior to treatment, to avoid the rare possibility of an allergic reaction. Please also inform Dr. Mittelman if you have recently received any other injections or are currently taking prescription medications. Dr. Mittelman may recommend that you avoid certain medications, such as ibuprofen and aspirin, vitamin E supplements and products containing St. John’s Wort, for one week prior to receiving a Restylane® Silk treatment.

HOW IS RESTYLANE® SILK ADMINISTERED?

We apply a topical agent to numb the area and minimize any possible discomfort. Dr. Mittelman will then inject the Restylane Silk gel via a very thin needle directly into the lips. You will see significant results immediately following the treatment, with increased improvements continuing over time as your skin benefits from the increased hydration that Restylane® Silk encourages. The typical Restylane® Silk treatment may take about 30 minutes, with results lasting between 10 and 12 months.

HOW MUCH DO RESTYLANE SILK TREATMENTS COST IN SAN JOSE?

The cost of Restylane  Silk may vary depending on how much dosage you require, and typically this procedure is not covered by medical insurance. To provide payment options for all of our patients, our office accepts cash, credit cards, and personal checks, as well as financing options.
